Vehicles

Combat that occurs between two or more large vessels usually requires the use of the following vehicular combat section.

Scales

Battles and logistics operate at different scales. Personal transportation and spacecraft have vastly different speeds, sizes and required operating space. In order to account for these various speeds and sizes, larger vehicles and vessels will operate on different size, movement and damage scales. These scales will be indicated on their Stats in the following formats.

Deca-Scale

The Deca-scale is that scale at which Vehicles such as automobiles and sea vessels operate and where vehicle mounted weapons, such as turrets and cannons deal their damage. This scale also determines how their HP is displayed and defines their unit of travel on a map.

Deca-Scale Map

Each tile on the Deca-Scale Map is equal to 10 sq. tiles at the standard scale. This means that every Deca-Tile is 10 sq. Meters rather than the standard 1 sq. Meter.

1 Deca-Tile = 10, One Meter Tiles

Deca-Damage

Each point of Deca-Damage is equal to 10 Damage at the standard scale.

1 Deca-Damage = 10 Damage

Deca-HP(DHP)

Each Deca-Hit Point is equal to 10 HP at the standard scale.

1 DHP = 10 HP

Vehicle Armor = Deca-Damage Resist / Damage Threshold

Most military or armored craft will have a Deca-Damage Resist or DR listed, the number listed is resisted by the vessel and is not subtracted from the vessel’s total Deca-HP. If the damage from a single attack or volley exceeds the Deca-DR the vessel instead, the vessel Immediately loses 1 point of Deca-DR and subtracts the damage that exceeded the Deca-DR(prior to the DR subtraction) from the vessel’s total Deca-HP value.

Hecto-Scale

The Hecto scale is the scale at which Vessels such as modern Aircraft and Space Craft operate and where Capitol Scale weapons, such as Batteries and Long Range Missiles deal their damage. This scale also determines how their HP is displayed and defines their unit of travel on a map.

Hecto-Scale Map

Each tile on the Hecto-Scale Map is equal to 100 sq. tiles at the standard scale. This means that every Hecto-Tile is 100 sq. Meters rather than the standard 1 sq. Meter.

1 Hecto-Tile = 10, Decameter Tiles

1 Hecto-Tile = 100, One Meter Tiles

Hecto-Damage

Each point of Mega Damage is equal to 100 Damage at the standard scale.

1 Hecto-Damage = 10 Deca-Damage

1 Hecto-Damage = 100 Damage

Hecto-HP(HHP)

Each Hecto-Hit Point is equal to 100 HP at the standard scale.

1 HHP = 10 DHP

1 HHP = 100 HP

Vehicle Armor = Hecto-Damage Resist / Damage Threshold

Most military or armored craft will have a Hecto-Damage Resist or DR listed, the number listed is resisted by the vessel and is not subtracted from the vessel’s total Hecto-HP. If the damage from a single attack or volley exceeds the Hecto-DR of the vessel instead, the vessel Immediately loses 1 point of Hecto-DR and subtracts the damage that exceeded the Hecto-DR(prior to the DR subtraction) from the vessel’s total Hecto-HP value.

Movement

A vehicle's Movement can be activated via the Movement or Action of any trained creature within melee range of the controls.

Top Speed

Speed is indicative of how many Decameter or Hectometer tiles a vehicle can travel Forward in a single Round. It is not necessary or advisable to always travel at the top speed of any given vehicle.

Handling

Handling is indicative of how many Decameter or Hectometer tiles a Tiles a vehicle can move from side to side or rotate in a single Round.

Acceleration

Vehicles can only Accelerate so quickly, pilots and drivers should always be aware that a vehicle can only Increase its speed by an amount equal to ½ their Top Speed, rounded up, unless otherwise stated by a Module, Skill, Trait or Ability.

Braking

Vehicles can only slow down so quickly, pilots and drivers should always be aware that a vehicle can only reduce its speed by an amount equal to its Handling during the course of a vehicle's movement unless otherwise stated by a Module, Skill, Trait or Ability.

Larger Scale Attacks vs Creatures and Smaller Targets

Large scale attacks are always considered area attacks to creatures inside the target area of a large scale weapon. Those creatures may roll and pass a Dexterity Saving Throw equal to 12/14/16 Depending on weapon Tier to instead receive half damage from the attack. Higher scale damage is always converted into an equal amount of damage at their scale when dealt to creatures in the weapon’s effect area.  When targeting a creature, vessel or target directly, refer to the following:

Much Smaller: Targeting a creature or target smaller than 10 sq. meters is always considered to have -10 and Adds a Fate Die to the Attack Roll.

Smaller: Targeting a creature or target smaller than 25 sq. meters is always considered to have -5 and Adds a Fate Die to the Attack Roll.

A Little Smaller:Targeting a creature or target smaller than 50 sq. meters is always considered to add a Fate Die on the attack roll.

Slightly Smaller: Targeting a creature or target smaller than 100 sq. meters is always considered to have -2 on the Attack Roll.
