:pop_up_power()

A virus that makes it harder for the target to use their device, the more they attempt to use their device via innumerable pop-ups.

A virus that constantly fills the user’s interface with multiplying pop-ups, making it difficult to work at first and eventually becomes impossible due to pop-up layers using up device resources. A reboot of the systems only resets the virus’ effect.

  • Acquisition Cost: 4 XP | 40,000 Dollars | 400 Credits
  • Digital Noise Generated: 4
  • CODA Cost: 4
  • Requirements: Network Connection
  • Subroutine Traits: Implant Virus
  • Range: 100 Meters / Network
  • Target: An uninfected digital device, cybernetically enhanced individual or robot.
  • Turn Portion: Full Round Action

Effect: The Target must Roll an Intellect Saving Throw. The DC is equal to your Subroutine Save DC.

Failure: If the Target Fails the Saving Throw they are infected with the “Pop Up Power” Virus, which has the following effects.

  • Each Action or Subroutine the target uses on the infected device causes 1d20+2 Popups to generate. When 100 or more popups are generated the device immediately freezes and cannot be used until it fully Reboots.

Success: If the Target Succeeds on the Saving Throw they are unaffected and uninfected. The user’s Turn Portion and CODA are still spent.

Overpower: Spend 1 additional CODA to:

  • Add +2 to the Save DC for this instance of the Subroutine.
  • Add +25 Meters to this instance of the Subroutine’s Range.
  • Add +2 to the number of pop-ups generated by this successful viral infection.

You can overpower as many times and in as many ways as you can afford to do so.
