:hostile_takeover()

A virus that allows the user to take control of one of the target's upcoming turns.

A virus that suppresses any autonomy present and briefly gives the user complete control over the unit.

  • Acquisition Cost: 6 XP | 60,000 Dollars | 600 Credits
  • Digital Noise Generated: 6
  • CODA Cost: 6
  • Requirements: Network Connection
  • Subroutine Traits: Implant Virus
  • Range: 100 Meters / Network
  • Target: An uninfected digital device, cybernetically enhanced individual or robot.
  • Turn Portion: Full Round Action

Effect: The Target must Roll an Intellect Saving Throw. The DC is equal to your Subroutine Save DC.

Failure: If the Target Fails the Saving Throw they are infected with the “Hostile Takeover” Virus, which has the following effects.

  • The User can take control of one of the Target’s next upcoming Turns by using their Reaction on the Target’s turn. They must be in Range to activate this effect.

When they do so, the user gains complete control of the target’s full turn and arsenal(Actions, Movements, Motions, Attacks, Spells, Maneuvers, Subroutines, etc.).

As soon as the target’s controlled turn has ended, the virus burns out and is considered to be purged from the target’s system.

If the virus is purged or suppressed before the user takes control of the target's turn, they can no longer take control of the target.

Success: If the Target Succeeds on the Saving Throw they are unaffected and uninfected and are aware of the attempted intrusion, but not its origin. The user’s Turn Portion and CODA are still spent.

Overpower: Spend 1 additional CODA to:

  • Add +2 to the Save DC for this instance of the Subroutine.
  • Add +25 Meters to this instance of the Subroutine’s Range.
  • Grant the infected target +1 to their Attack or Damage Rolls on their controlled turn.

You can overpower as many times and in as many ways as you can afford to do so.
