Most likely the inspiration for myths and legends about mermaids, Merr have very recognizable humanoid features, particularly on the upper half of their bodies but retain the swimming tails and gills of their ancestors. There have been some famous Merr Pirates and Naval Officers but they rarely engage in mercenary work or overland travel as it can be quite difficult and stressful for them to maintain their water requirements and their movement is severely hampered on dry land.

Description

Deep Sea Merr typically have lighter body colorations and milky, grey or highly reflective eyes. Their hair and scales often have lighter or pearlescent hues. Little is known about these reclusive aquatics, as they often reside in realms deeper than stories are told.
