Description

Mantissarians resemble an oversized bipedal praying mantis. They even have similar chitin colorations, such as: greens, yellows, tans, browns, blues, whites and violets. Their eyes are exceptionally large and are often pitch black except where the light reflects on the edges of their many facets. They possess two oversized arms that end in large mantis claws. Just below that set of arms they have a smaller set of arms, complete with grasping appendages. They have two sturdy insectoid legs of which they stand upon. When interacting with other species mantissarians often position their antenna above or around their eyes and intentionally move them while speaking to help convey emotion

Society

A loner style insectoid species. They are not known to congregate in large numbers and often adopt hermit, trapper, hunter and mercenary lifestyles. They were feared in the insect kingdom and remain fearsome to this day.

Loner Society

Mantissarians suffer from an ineptitude in social situations but excel at self sustaining.
