Contacts and Connections

Information about contacts and connections and how they can be acquired.

Contacts and connections become more important the more integrated and modern the game setting. Contacts are individuals your character knows and trusts and can regularly depend on for certain goods and services.

Connections are affiliations your character has with larger groups and organizations such as Corporations, Governments and Crime Organizations. Connections are usually accompanied by a contact in or connected to that organization.

Types of Contacts

Contacts that you acquire in game or during character build will always have a particular type. This narrows down the type of assistance you could expect from a given Contact. The currently included Contact types are as follows.

Law Enforcement

XP Cost: 1

Law enforcement contacts give you access to Information, Bounties and possible release after being arrested for minor crimes.

Dark Market

XP Cost: 1

Dark Market contacts give you access to Illegal or Unsanctioned Goods, Items and Weapons and Information about the current climate of the Dark Market.

Fixer

XP Cost: 1

Fixers are Mercenary Contractors that can, depending on the fixer, give you access to Merc jobs, Bounties, Extortion gigs, Robberies and even Assassinations.

Reseller

XP Cost: 1

Resellers will buy merchandise and legally acquired items from you at a consistent and fair rate and will offer you a discount on any wares they sell.

Fence

XP Cost: 1

Fences are willing to buy stolen items and property at a consistent rate. Usually this rate is 50% of the Actual Value of the Item.

Corporate

XP Cost: 2

Corporate Contacts give you access to Information about that Corporation and can potentially offer Jobs to Work for or Against their Corp, depending on the Contact.

Gang

XP Cost: 2

Gangs Contacts allow you access to Street and Underground information as well as access to Gang Jobs and Hits. The gang with which you have contact may also potentially aid you against Rival Gangs or Local Police.

Government

XP Cost: 2

Government contacts give you Access to certain Classified Information as well as potentially offering Government Contract Work.

Forger

XP Cost: 1

Forgers give you access to someone who can create fake Identifications or Documentation for the right price.

Crafter

XP Cost: 1

Crafters give you access to someone who can build or make Items, Equipment, Weapons or Vehicles for the right price.

Bar Owner

XP Cost: 1

Bar Owner contacts give you access to local rumors and street information as well as potentially offering you a Backroom Meeting Place or Hideout.

Property Owner

XP Cost: 1

Property Owner Contacts Give you access to Meeting Places, Hideouts and Safehouses.

Noble

XP Cost: 2

Noble Contacts give you access to High Society Information as well as Potentially granting you Invitations or Access to certain High Society Functions.

Royalty

XP Cost: 3

Royalty Contacts give you access to Royal Society Information as well as Potentially granting you Invitations or Access to certain Royal Society Functions.

Entertainer

XP Cost: 2

Entertainer Contacts can give you access to certain parties, clubs and functions or aid you as a Distraction for the right price.

Celebrity

Entertainer Contacts can give you access to certain celebrity parties and functions or may aid you as a Major Distraction for the right price.

You have a Connection to a Specific Corporation.

The Corporation views you as an Asset and may Protect you from Other Corporations.

Governments

XP Cost: 2

You have a Connection to a Specific Government.

The Government views you as an Asset and may Protect you from Internal Prosecution for Crimes Committed within their Borders.

Mafias

XP Cost: 2

You have a Connection to a Specific Crime Syndicate.

The Crime Syndicate views you as an Asset and may Protect you from Rival gangs or local Police Incarceration.

Guilds

XP Cost: 2

You have a Connection to a Specific Guild House.

The Guild views you as an Asset and will Offer you Guild Work and Housing in any one of their guild locations.

Magic Orders

XP Cost: 2

You have a Connection to a Specific Magic Order.

The Magic Order views you as an Asset and will offer you Magical Work and Assistance.

Secret Societies

XP Cost: 2

You have a Connection to a Specific Secret Society.

The Secret Society Views you as an Asset and will offer you Secret Society Work and may work in secret to Protect you.
